Bring your students to Children’s Storybook Garden & Museum for a farm and nature-based field trip experience filled with joy, exploration, discovery and wonder. All our field trips are hands-on, age appropriate, garden, farm history and literature-based and meet CA State Standards. A sampling of our program topics and explorations include: literacy, farm history, gardening, compost, seeds, plants, harvesting, tasting and cooking, bugs, butterflies, worms, the senses, and will take place mostly outside from September through November, and March to June. We are a rain or shine environment so please dress for any weather.
Please note: Field Trip Classes begin at 9:30-11:00 AM and 11:30 AM-1:00 PM and last for approximately one and half hours. We want to be flexible of the time for the second session 11:30-1:00. Just let us know if 12:00-1:30 works better for you. We understand about bus schedules. All classes are a minimum of 6 students up to 30 students. We can accommodate up to three same grade level classes at one time for a total of 90 students. Each class is $125.00. There is no additional fee for the teacher and two chaperons. All other adult chaperones are $5.00 each. Please communicate with your parents that adults and children who are not in the class or chaperones may not attend field trips.

The Garden is closed on Mondays. Classes may be scheduled for Tuesday through Friday 9:30-11:00 and 11:30-1:00. At this time, we cannot offer a place for lunch. The Hanford Civic Park is a great place to enjoy sack lunches, and is only one half block away.
Fall 2017: Starting September 26, through November 21. Field trips will not be scheduled in December, January or February (unless the weather changes drastically.)

Step 1 Review Field Trip Guidelines
* Scheduled Field Trips are required for groups of 6 or more non-family or non-members of the Garden.
* Special requests may be made and we will try to accommodate those if possible.
* We are a rain or shine environment. Please dress for any weather.
* We do not have the capacity to accommodate free exploration before or after field trips. This ensures the safety of field trip students, other visitors and the Gardens.
Step 2 Fill out the Field Trip Request Form
Once we receive your request form we will contact you within 5 school days to verify availability and create your group reservation.
Step 3 Invoice
An invoice will be sent to your email 2 to 3 months prior to your scheduled field trip. It is very important that we have an accurate count so we can adequately staff your field trip experience.
Please complete the following request for school and homeschool field trips. Field trips and student programs are only available for groups of 6 or more that register in advance. Once we receive your request, we will contact you to verify availability and create a group reservation. If we are unable to accommodate your request, we will contact you by telephone and/or email to discuss alternatives for your group. Please note that pre-registration for field trips is required.
